The following organizations offer professional development opportunities for educators to earn CPE/TEEAC credit throughout the year. Contact the organization for the next available workshop, or to set one up.

  • Project WILD is facilitated by Texas Parks & Wildlife Department. Each TEKS-aligned suite contains interdisciplinary activities and lessons that are suitable for K-12 classrooms and informal settings. Note: Houston Audubon hosts workshops with the Flying WILD curriculum from Project WILD.

  • Project Learning Tree is facilitated by the Texas Forestry Association and the Texas A&M Forest Service. There is TEKS-aligned curriculum and corresponding workshops for early childhood, preK-8, secondary and pre-service teachers; they’re offered in-person or via a new online training module. They also host a Summer Institute in the forests of Texas.

  • Texas Children in Nature regularly hosts webinars, or you can peruse their library of recorded sessions.

  • Texas Association for Environmental Education hosts an annual conference for formal and informal educators.

  • Children’s Environmental Literacy Foundation hosts workshops, provides microgrants and stipends to help K-12 educators guide students in community-based inquiry projects with opportunities to present their findings to stakeholders. They will also create a customized professional development plan for campuses and districts.

  • EcoRise has a sustainable intelligence program with K-12 curricula and professional development, a green building academy and a teacher ambassador program.

  • NOAA recorded webinars for educators about the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary.

  • Texas Wildlife Association hosts in-person and virtual workshops that introduce educators to lessons and activities about our natural resources, land stewardship, native wildlife and water conservation. Aligned to Science TEKS Grades K-8.
